Member’s Story: Elizabeth Sugars

Bridge Across Three Generations
“As far back as our family history goes we have played cards in the evenings. When I moved to the city to be closer to my family I started looking for somewhere to play Bridge and make some new friends, and found The Fremantle Bridge Club. My daughter, Helen, and I enrolled in Beginner lessons there and found the established members very welcoming and helpful, encouraging us to join in on regular club days. It wasn’t long before Helen’s son, Ryan, decided to join us, and now we are all members of the club and committed Bridge players. It is a great delight for me to be playing in the same club with my daughter and grandson. The family tradition continues. Bridge is a great game for all ages and we have made many new friends. As an added benefit, I have noticed an increase in my ability to concentrate and my memory is definitely improving. I turn eighty this year, Ryan is 35, and Helen’s age is her secret.”
